Oui. Nuprime l'a fait. Mais déjà chez moi en éléments séparés comme je préfère. En cas de panne,....euh bonjour, on a plus rien.

Can this use for pre amp only? DA converter alone? Streaming platform and media server?

Yes, it is a full featured DAC, preamp and headphone amp. There is no streamer on it but you can add the WR-100D

What is a high-end DAC ? Which part of the circuit is more relevant in its performance?

NuPrime has designed a $99 Encore mDSD portable DAC and a $179 NuPrime uDSD DAC that are both capable of decoding 32-bit/384kHz and DSD256, therefore the DAC chip itself has advanced to the point of becoming a commodity and is no longer the biggest differentiating factor.

Newer generation of DAC chips (ESS 9028, 9038) only provide diminishing return. Different brands of DAC chip have their own sonic characteristic but a skilled engineer could tuned the sound of a DAC with transistors in the preamp stage.

POWR SUPPLY and PREAMP are now becoming the dominant factors in the DAC's performance. In this post, we will discuss about the preamp and volume control. Entry level DAC such as the $99 Encore mDSD (won Qobuz top award Qobuzissime) can sound like a reference class DAC if it is used with a high-end in-ear earphones and a computer USB audio. But for a high-end DAC to work with a variety of analog and digital inputs, the volume control and preamp has to be exceptional.

In traditional pure-analog designs, a switch resistor network for volume control works best but is very expensive due to the use of many high precision discrete resistors. Next is a high-quality volume pot. You rotate the pot to change the resistance, which in turn attenuates the volume. A volume pot is non-linear and has balance issues at low volume. Some DACs do not have built-in volume controls and you therefore have no choice but to change volume at the analog output. We try to avoid that. Fortunately the top DAC chips have volume controls, which make sense since it’s best to adjust the volume in the digital domain for digital signals.

Our DAC-9 ($749) and DAC-10 ($1495) have analog inputs without A-to-D conversion. We use a mixed analog and digital volume-control design. The digital volume control’s 0.5db steps are sent to the DAC for the best possible result. The DAC’s analog output and analog inputs from other sources then go through a switch- resistor network. The DAC's output is switched straight through with minimum resistance. For analog inputs, the switch resistor network provides the best possible result. The digital volume control from the front panel manages switching the analog resistor network.

In conclusion, we feel we’ve developed the best type of volume control and preamp for a modern DAC.

Suspend your disbelief - NuPrime IDA-6 Integrated Class A+D Amp with DAC (32-bit 384kHz) at $549 and STA-6 Class A+D Stereo Amplifier (2 x 90W bridgeable into a 160W Mono Amp) at $399 set a new standard in performance versus price for high end audio.
All NuPrime proprietary design with no off-the-shelf module.

What is High-End Audio ?

Robert Harley, Editor-In-Chief of The Absolute Sound, states that “High-End Audio is the quest to re-create in the listener’s home the musical message of the composer or performer with the maximum realism, emotion, and intensity.” Historically, skilled audio professionals have created high-end audio components by carefully crafting circuits and taking great care in parts selection. They achieve great sound through elaborate, time-consuming processes, resulting in expensive and often opulent products.

High-End Audio is no longer expensive.

Thanks to innovations in digital design, NuPrime Audio is producing affordable audio that sounds as good as the best. For example, NuPrime's compact, powerful, superb-sounding STA-6 amplifier employs an advanced hybrid design via Class-D topology and a hand-crafted transistor circuit that rival the sonic characteristics of the world's leading Class A amps.

The same Class A+D hybrid design is also available in the NuPrime IDA-8 ($1095) together with a digital-to-analog converter that decodes USB PCM 384 and DSD 256 plus the convenience of wireless audio in a small, handsomely designed home stereo component. The IDA-8's spacious, transparent, dynamic and luxuriously textured soundstage has to be heard to be believed.

NuPrime Audio makes it possible for the budget-minded music lover to acquire an impeccable audio system that costs not much more than mass-market goods. Small wonder that in 2015 and 2016, for the first time in audio history, NuPrime has received five Product-of-the-Year awards from The Absolute Sound and the SoundStage! Network.

How does it sound compared to the IDA-8/STA-8? I have a pair of Duevel Planets (spreading the sound 360 degrees), which only have 85db(A)(8Ohm). I'd like them to be more distinct in the bass and maybe a bit more 3D/detailed (I know that won't be possible with 360 degrees, but still hoping). I've looked at the IDA-8, but can't really afford it. But now I saw this ad by you and this one suits my budget! I drive the speakers with a 10 year old Marantz surround receiver today

85db is a little on the borderline for IDA-6. Are you using any DAC? STA-6 has more power than IDA-6. The sound quality is definitely much better than the Marantz receiver.

No external DAC. Using a Spotify Connect enabled device with optical out. So, I need to go IDA-8 then, or STA-6 and an external DAC?

IDA-9 + STA-6, or IDA-8? Or IDA-9 + 2xSTA-6? Or start with IDA-9 + STA-8 and later expand with another STA-8? My speakers are pretty warm in sound and since 360-sound, lacks the 3D depth.

You can go with IDA-8, absolute safe choice and will be happy with it. The price will go up by end of Feb so it is still $995 for now. It is going to be difficult to find anything out there at this price point to match IDA-8 sound quality and value. STA-6 is very good and at $399 unbeatable, but need a good DAC. If you really want to save money, you can buy IDA-6 and give it a try, and exchange for IDA-8. Online stores and some dealers support 30 days full refund. So all it cost is the return shipping to try it out.

STA-9 AMP FOR ME PLEASE😄

Sorry output filtering stage of class d makes them crap in my book

I wonder how my Bose 141s would sound with this?

100% money back guarantee so give it a try :). It depends on what you already have compared to IDA-6.

I'll be using an STA-9 to drive my Paradigm Reference Studio 20 v2s. . . Gonna be EPIC!!! CAN'T WAIT!!!

I'll keep my 50w tube amp. It even makes Spotify sound like real music to these old ears.

I wonder how the sound compares to a class A amp?

we're is the power

Can someone help me is this a regular amp that I can plug two speakers in and jam or something else I wanna know please no insults

Note that despite of the price, $399 STA-6 has 160W (8ohm) of power in mono mode. We think this amp will really shock a lot of audiophiles about its sound quality. We already knew that from the feedback from $649 STA-9. STA-6 follows similar design as STA-9 but with more neutral sound (than the warmer STA-9). We turned the sound using class A transistors circuit.

160 watts would just make me mad

Great deal

160 watts a channel or total power

Is it bluetooth

Interested in local brick and mortar dealers?

Cool

States in your site that they're (STA-6) initially designed for 'Commercial Use', is it of 'audiophile'-quality enough for home-use?

I'm impressed and interested...

Is it always a hybrid or can it be only analogue or digital?
